The Three Modes
Eudora 4.3 introduces sponsored ads in the Eudora program itself. The ads in Eudora allow you, if you choose, to use all the powerful features of Eudora for free. This version is called Sponsored Mode.
If you want the ads removed, you can choose to pay for Eudora and have the ads removed. This version is called Paid Mode.
If you don't want to buy Eudora or see ads, you can use a feature-limited version of Eudora. This version is called Light Mode.
If you retrieve Eudora 4.3 from the Eudora website, you will be installing Sponsored Mode. You can change Eudora's mode by selecting Payment & Registration from the Help menu.
Choosing a Eudora Mode
1. From the Help menu, choose Payment & Registration.
2. In the Which Eudora is right for you? section:
- To use Eudora in Sponsored Mode, click Sponsored Mode (free, with ads). Eudora displays the ad window.
- To use Eudora in Paid Mode, click Paid Mode (costs money, no ads). Eudora displays the website for you to purchase Eudora.
- To use Eudora in Light Mode, click Light Mode (Free, fewer features). Eudora changes to Eudora Light by shutting down certain features.
Important: While you can toggle between Sponsored Mode and Light Mode, you will lose certain features when you downgrade. For example, if you customize your Toolbar in Sponsored Mode, you will lose that customization if you downgrade to Light Mode.
