How to Use the Address Book (Macintosh)

There are two ways to use your Eudora address book.

The Eudora Address Book

1. Short, easy-to-remember entries for individual people:

    Ringo
    ringo.starr @eudora.com

The Eudora Address Book

2. One entry for a whole list of addresses:

    Band
    ringo @eudora.com, george @eudora.com, john @eudora.com, paul @eudora.com

A message sent to Ringo would go to ringo.starr @eudora.com. A message sent to Band would go to all four addresses on the list.

This is explained in further detail in the Address Book section of the Eudora manual.

Creating an address book entry:

Go to Window: Address Book (Command+L)

Step 1

Open the Address Book window.

Enter the email address(es)
Enter the email address(es)
Enter the email address(es)
Enter the email address(es)
Enter the email address(es)

Step 4

In the right-hand pane, click the cursor in the large white area under This nickname will expand to the following address(es). Then type or paste the email addresses of the people you want on the Bosses list. The addresses can be separated by commas or carriage returns.

Optional Step:

If you want the list of email addresses to be concealed from the recipients, click in the Full Name: field and type something in this field (in this example, Coach).

Now when you send something out to Bosses, all the recipients will see is Coach. They will not be able to see who else you sent the email to.

Note: This only works if you have more than one email address in the list for this entry.

Step 5

If you wish to add further information to this address book entry, click on the Home, Work, Other, and Notes tabs.

Close the address book and agree to save the changes.

Now that you have an address book entry, there are two ways to use it.

Type the nickname here - Eudora will put the proper e-mail address here when the message is sent.

First Way:

Open a new message and type the name of the nickname - Bosses in the To, CC, or BCC line.

Or highlight the nickname, then click TO Eudora will put the proper email address in when the message is sent
