Unable to check or send mail after latest Norton Update

Issue:

I am unable to check or send mail after latest Norton Update?

Solution:

We are currently trying to contact Symantec regarding a conflict with the most recent Norton update and Eudora's ability to connect to your ISP's mail servers. We have noticed that disabling Norton's firewall allows Eudora to operate properly, and we have seen some solutions on the web regarding this issue:

Internet-enabled programs in Norton

Modifying or restoring the default firewall rules in Norton

But we do not know what ramifications resetting Norton's firewall rules may cause to other programs and connections. We highly recommend contacting Norton's technical support for a solution http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/index.html
