Connecting to an SSL server using Eudora on Panther

Document ID: 2492HQ

Issue:

I have updated to Panther (OSX 10.3) and now I can not connect to an email sever that requires SSL.

Solution:

This appears to only be an issue for systems that have done a fresh install of Panther, systems that have updated from Jaguar and have an SSL certificate in the System Keychain do not have this issue.  On a fresh install of Panther, we have had some success with importing an SSL certificate into the Keychain and then having Eudora connect.  Please click on the following link to down load the Verisign SSL certificate, unstuff the file then double click on the verisign.cer file, OS X should then ask to import the certificate into the Keychain, click on OK and then have Eudora check mail.
