What is MAPI (Palm)

Document ID: 2207HQ

Your computer must have the MAPI dll files installed on your computer in order to HotSync messages from your Palm to your desktop. Without these files HotSync is not possible. Eudora has a set of MAPI dll files that are installed when you first install Eudora. Microsoft Outlook has MAPI installed by default.

A lot of information on MAPI can be found on our developers site.

For basic information, Eudora uses Simple MAPI, Outlook uses Extended MAPI. Either way, these files need to be installed in order for HotSync operations to be successful.
