Authorization failed errors Document ID: 2146HQISSUE: Users connecting to EIMS are getting "Authorization failed" error messages. SOLUTION: "Authorization failed" errors can result from too many connections in use, or the previous connection not being closed and the "Maximum POP3 connections from one address" limit being reached. EIMS is designed to handle more than one POP session to the same mailbox simultaneously. When a user logs in, their mailbox is opened, and a snapshot of the status of all the messages is taken. If the same user logs in again while the mailbox is open, EIMS sees that it is open, and just takes another snapshot of the status of all the messages. When one of the POP sessions deletes a message, it just flags the message to be deleted. The message is not actually expunged until all POP sessions have finished with the mailbox. KEYWORDS: EIMS
