Logging instructions (Mac Classic and OSX) Document ID: 1779HQTo create a log file in Mac Eudora: 1. Click on Special...Settings, and scroll through the list of settings panels. If you find a 'Logging' panel, you may skip steps 2 & 3. If you did not find a 'Logging' panel, proceed to step 2. 2. Quit Eudora. 3. Navigate to your 'Eudora Application Folder'. If you are running Mac Classic the name and location of this folder may vary, but it is the folder in which the Eudora application itself resides. Open the 'Extra Plug-ins' folder and find a file called 'Esoteric Settings'. Move the 'Esoteric Settings' file from the 'Extra Plug-ins' folder into the 'Eudora Stuff' folder. If you are running OSX, open the Eudora Application Folder, hold down control and click on the Eudora application. Click show package contents/contents/macos, then move the 'Esoteric Settings' file from the 'Extra Plug-ins' folder into the 'Eudora Stuff' folder. 4. Navigate to your Eudora Folder. In most cases, this folder is located in your Hard Drive...System Folder. In some cases, it may be located in Hard Drive...Documents Folder. This is the folder which houses all of your Eudora data. Search this folder for a file called Eudora Log. If you find this file, drag it to the Trash. NOTE: You will not find this file unless you have already logged Eudora in the past. If you are running OSX, look in your Hard Drive/Documents folder or look in the Hard Drive/User/User name/Documents folder. 5. Launch Eudora and click on Special...Settings. Scroll to the 'Logging' panel. Check the "All bytes transferred" box, and uncheck all other checkboxes. Click OK. 6. Replicate the problem. 7. Quit Eudora. Locate the 'Eudora Log' file inside your 'Eudora Folder' and drag it to the desktop. Rename the file to "Eudora Problem Log". 8. Launch Eudora and create a new message. Attach the "Eudora Problem Log" file, and send it to us. KEYWORDS: EPMAC, LOG, LOGGING
