Crashes When Exiting Document ID: 1738HQTry each step below one at a time. If one step doesn't fix the problem, then try the next one, and so on. 1. Start up Eudora. Hold down the keys CTRL and SHIFT, then go to Tools: Options:. It will prompt you to reset your settings file - click YES. It will rename your existing Eudora.ini settings file to eudora.sav. Now launch Eudora and see if the problems continue. 2. Make sure your System Date is set properly. Double click on the clock on your Windows task bar and check the date, time, and time zone settings. If you make any changes, reboot your computer. 3. Go into the Eudora directory and delete the folder EudPriv. 4. Quit Eudora and go into the Eudora directory. Look for the directory Plugins. Rename it to OldPlugins. Now start up Eudora and try sending a message. If it works this way, then one of your plug-ins was causing the crash. 5. If you're on Windows 95/98, restart your computer in Windows Safe Mode. To learn how to restart Windows in Safe Mode, go to your Start button, select Help, and type Safe Mode. The Windows help file will explain how to restart in Safe Mode. Once in Safe Mode, try launching Eudora. If it works this way, then you may have a conflict with some other program that starts up automatically or with your video drivers. Try reinstalling your video drivers or check with the manufacturer of your video card and check for the latest drivers for it. 6. Quit Eudora and go into the Eudora directory. Look for these files and rename them from -> to: 7. Either delete the EudoraStatistics.XML file and or copy and paste this link into a message and click on it- <x-eudora-option:DisableStatistics=1> to disable the Statistics gathering information.
