Eudora asks me for the password (Win)Document ID: 1604HQ
Eudora is asking me for a password "Please enter the current password for <my account name>."
Eudora does not have a password. The password Eudora is asking for is the password from your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or Network Administrator that you must provide before you can check and receive your email.
If you do not know what the password is, you can contact your ISP or Network Administrator and request that they reset your password.
Every mail server requires passwords. Otherwise, anyone would be able to connect to your mail server and read your mail. You may never have noticed it before because of Eudora's option to save your password so you don't have to enter it each time. This option is found under the Tools menu, Options, Checking Mail. [Macintosh Users - go to the Special menu, Settings, Checking Mail category.]
Why would Eudora recently forget your password if it has saved it and not asked for a long time? There are several possibilities:
