I added a secondary domain and now my user can't check mail.

Document ID: 1480HQ

Worldmail returns "Invalid user or domain syntax."

WorldMail will allow you to have the same username in more than one domain. As a result, you need to specify which domain you are checking mail for when you set up the client. This is done by appending a % sign and the domain name to the username.

For example, when setting up Eudora Pro 3.X or Eudora Light, the POP account would be:

username%domain.name@pop.server.name

In Eudora 4.X, the Login name would be:

username%domain.name

You can avoid using this for one of the domains by setting it as the default domain. Here's how:

  • Open the Management Center

  • Right click Internet Mail and select Configure server

  • Click the Mailboxes tab

  • At the bottom, select a default domain (this option will not be available until you add a second domain)

  • Click OK

After clicking OK, users in that domain will not be required to use the username%domain.name syntax to retrieve their mail.
