Foreign Dictionaries (Windows Eudora)

ISSUE:

Where can I find foreign language dictionaries to use in addition to the American English dictionary for spell checking in Windows Eudora (Eudora 5.x or 4.x)?

SOLUTION:

For Eudora spelling dictionaries in languages other than English, download the appropriate files from

ftp://ftp.qualcomm.com/eudora/eudorapro/windows/extras/dictionaries/3.0.1andlater/.

Once you have them, unzip the .CLX and .TLX files and place them in the Eudora directory.

Launch Eudora and copy and paste the following text into a new message-

<x-eudora-option:MainLexFiles=espanol.tlx,espanol.clx,american.tlx,american.clx>

The text you paste will show up in blue as a URL. Hold down the ALT key and click on it - a window will appear asking you to click OK. Click OK. That will do it - Eudora will now use the Spanish language dictionaries and the American English dictionaries.
