Address book window missing half Document ID: 1358HQIssue: The Eudora Address book allows me to create a nickname but there is no place to enter the address for the nickname. Solution: The address book should have a split window. The left window pans should have "Show By Nickname" and the list of nicknames and address books beneath it. The right window pane should have three tabs for "Addresses", "Notes", and "Info." Use the Tutorial at http://www.eudora.com/techsupport/tutorials/win_splitter.html to see a step-by-step tutorial of how to move the splitter bar. Otherwise... Upgrade to version 3.0.5 if you haven't already. Version 3.0.5 and the 4.x versions of Eudora have a button labeled ">>" on the left window pane to force open the right window pane for you. To manually fix your problem right now, move your cursor over to the left-hand side of the address book window until it turns into two vertical lines with arrows pointing left and right. Use this resizing cursor to drag the splitter bar to the right so it reveals the right-hand panel. If it won't drag, put your cursor in the lower left-hand corner of the Address Book window until it turns into a diagonal sizing double-arrow, and drag the border of the window at least three inches to the right, then let go. You can also maximize Eudora and the Address book to utilize the most space as the problem occurs because the splitter bar is snapping closed when the window is too small. If you cannot move the splitter bar over, you can try to force the window open using settings in the Eudora.ini file. Quit Eudora, open your Eudora.ini file (it's in your Eudora directory), and find the [Settings] section. Look for a line that says NicknamesWindowSplitterPosition. If you have such a line, delete the NicknamesWindowSplitterPosition line, save changes to the file, and exit out of the eudora.ini file. Also delete the file nndbase.toc. That file resides in the main Eudora directory. Restart Eudora. KEYWORDS: EPWIN, ADDRESS BOOK MISSING
