I hear silence when playing a file back

After clicking the record button in PureVoice and recording my message, all I hear is silence when I play it back.

Try recording a sound using either SimpleSound (in the Apple menu) or by clicking the "Add..." button in the "Alert Sounds" panel of the "Sound" control panel or the "Alerts" section of the "Monitors & Sound" control panel. If you cannot record a sound successfully using these methods, you will not be able to record a sound using PureVoice.
