Mail is not being sent.

Mail showing in the Message Queue and not being sent

There are several reasons why this could happen.

Verify WorldMail can resolve hostnames to IP addresses. If WorldMail is unable to resolve hostnames, it is a DNS problem. This will need to be resolved by the host ISP, or your DNS manager.

If WorldMail is able to resolve hostnames, verify the MX record of the domain that is not being sent. If the MX record points to a Cname, this is contrary to RFC 1912 and may not work with most mail servers, including WorldMail.

To work around this problem, you must create a custom route to this server:

  1. Right click Custom Domains

  2. Select Add Custom Domain

  3. Name the new domain after the domain you are having the trouble with, e.g. eudora.com

  4. Click OK

  5. Right click the Custom Domain you just added and select configure...

  6. Select the Routing tab, set it to Route to host(s)

  7. Under Host computers enter the IP address, or real name if known, of the receiving mail server for this domain

  8. Click Insert Host to insert the host name or IP address into the list box

  9. Click OK

Next, verify there is a route to the relay host (if configured), or to the recipient's mail server. Go to a DOS prompt and type the following:

"tracert host.server.name"

"host.server.name" is the name of the server you are trying to reach. If tracert returns an error, you need to contact your Internet Service Provider for assistance.
