Eudora in the News ![]() Qualcomm's Eudora 6.0 Stymies Spam September 4, 2003 (12:50 p.m. EST) TechWeb News Qualcomm on Thursday released the latest version of its once-dominant Eudora e-mail client for Windows and Macintosh users. Eudora 6.0 can be downloaded from the Eudora Web site, and comes in both pay and free editions. The new client sports enhanced antispam tools--available only in the for-a-fee version--that allow users to filter messages for spam and train the client to recognize similar messages as spam going forward. Other features new to v. 6.0 include streamlined message threading to better get a grip on extended back-and-forth conversations, a contextual filing tool that automatically files messages based on words the user selects in the message, and a refreshed interface that better matches the look of Windows XP and Mac OS X. The paid edition of Eudora 6.0 is priced at $50; the for-free version displays advertisements within the user interface. |
